Shalini - Biography Shalini is a south Indian film actress debuted in the Malayalam movie Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku, alongside Superstar Mohanlal. She had a short but successful career as a child artist, but later came back to the industry in another Malayalam Movie Aniyathi Pravu and became a star in Tamil. Her pairing with Kunchacko Boban in Malayalam was a big hit.
She started acting at the age of 3 appearing in the film Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku in 1983 for which she won the Kerala State Award for Best Child Artiste. As a child artist, Shalini has completed over 80 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Shalini made her debut as a heroine in the Malayalam movie Aniyathi Pravu which was remade in Tamil as Kadhalukku Mariyadhai - a box-office hit. Her best moments came when Mani Ratnam cast her opposite Madhavan in Alaipayuthey. She also acted with Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi in a movie called Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. After her marriage to fellow actor Ajith, she left the film industry.
